GEOMETRÍA Y TEXTURAS 8
Before written language, before alphabets and codices, human beings encoded their most important knowledge into stone. Not randomly — with extraordinary precision. The same circular forms with radiating lines appear carved into megalithic monuments across Ireland, Malta, Brittany and Peru, separated by oceans and millennia, as if drawn from the same source. No one has fully explained why the same symbols keep appearing. They simply do, carrying something that survives every civilisation that receives them.
Geometría y Texturas 8 received them in terracotta and black and red.
Textured circular forms with radiating lines occupy the composition with the weight of things that have existed for a very long time — warm, earthy, geological. The structured black square holds them with the precision of a frame that was always meant to be there. Red arrives with the particular intensity of a signal that refuses to be quiet. Together they create a tension that is not conflict but dialogue — the ancient and the constructed, the organic and the deliberate, the mark that was received and the hand that placed it on the panel.
The surface earns its place in this series. Acrylic on wood panel, built with layered mediums that give the circular forms a tactile presence — ring upon ring of texture that the eye reads as geological time, as growth, as the record of cycles that predate everything we know. The wood panel beneath doesn't disappear into the painting. It participates.
Some symbols have been waiting to be received again. This one arrived through the studio, through the hand, onto the panel — exactly as it came.
