The moon has been a symbol of transmission for as long as human beings have looked upward. Every ancient culture that carved geometric marks into stone, pressed symbols into earth, or encoded knowledge into form used lunar imagery — the crescent, the full circle, the phase — as a way of marking cycles that operate beyond the visible. The moon doesn't generate light. It receives it and reflects it back.
Geometría y Texturas 9 works in that same mode.
A textured pink crescent and circular form sit within a bold black square — contained but not constrained, held but not diminished. The pink arrived as it is, carrying its particular frequency of energy and openness against the grounding force of the black. The forms read as lunar phases, as celestial bodies mid-cycle, as symbols from a geometric language whose full grammar remains just beyond what we can currently read. They don't ask to be decoded. They ask to be received.
The textures here are central to what the work communicates. Built with acrylic and layered mediums on wood panel, the pink forms carry a tactile presence that the eye registers before the mind engages — the particular quality of a surface that has been physically constructed, not merely painted. This is a painting designed to be touched by the gaze, the kind of surface that changes as the light moves across it through the day.
Part of the Geometría y Texturas series — nine works exploring the same geometric transmission language in colour — alongside White Geometry and Black Geometry, the three sub-series together forming a sustained body of work channelling symbols that arrived, not arrived at.
