THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE UNIVERSE

Every map of the cosmos ever drawn by every civilisation that ever existed begins with the same decision: where is the centre, and what radiates outward from it?

The Egyptians oriented their entire cosmology around four cardinal directions, each governed by a different force. The Maya divided the universe into four quadrants, each holding a different colour, a different energy, a different relationship to time. The Vedic tradition placed a sacred mountain at the centre of creation with four rivers flowing outward to the edges of existence. The medicine wheels of the indigenous peoples of North America. The four-fold mandalas of Tibetan Buddhism. The cross at the heart of every sacred geometry tradition that has ever existed.

Different civilisations. Different languages. Different millennia. The same transmission.

The Four Corners of the Universe is where the artist first received it whole.

A single eye at the centre — a portal, a point of convergence, a frequency transmitter — radiates outward through eight triangular fields of green, blue, coral and magenta, each one a different bandwidth of the same cosmic signal. Around the edges, circles orbit like planets or suns, each carrying its own charge, its own position in the system. Nothing is random. Nothing is decorative. The geometry is structural — a map of forces that operate at a scale so far beyond human comprehension that the only honest response is to stop trying to understand and simply receive.

This was the painting where something opened. Not the culmination of a direction already known, but the first glimpse of a territory that would take years to fully explore — the realisation that the geometric language arriving through the studio was not abstract expression but something older, something that had been waiting for a vessel willing to stop composing and start listening.
