THE RISE OF CONSCIOUSNESS
There is a moment in the practice of mindfulness when something shifts. The noise of the mind — the constant negotiation between past and future, between what was and what might be — grows quieter. And in that quiet, something becomes possible that wasn't before: the capacity to direct your own energy. To choose, consciously and deliberately, where it goes. To understand that the life you are living is not happening to you — it is being shaped, moment by moment, by the quality of awareness you bring to it.

Not as a metaphor — as a literal practice. The studio is where the mind settles. Where the hand moves and the internal noise recedes and something clearer takes its place. Where it becomes possible to feel, concretely, what it means to project energy in a direction and watch a form emerge from nothing. Making art is mindfulness in action — presence, intention, and the particular satisfaction of a consciousness that has stopped being passive and started being generative.
The Rise of Consciousness is that understanding made visible.
At the centre, a Buddha in meditation — hands together, eyes closed, the posture of a being that has found the still point inside the storm. Around him, colour explodes in every direction: the positive energy that a consciousness in genuine alignment generates and radiates, moving outward through layers of washi tape, coloured cardboard, acrylic and Posca markers into a field that vibrates with forward momentum. Nothing here is static. Everything is in motion — toward something, away from something, upward and outward and alive.
This is what a rising consciousness looks like from the outside. This is what it feels like to choose your life rather than simply live it.
