THE TEMPLE INSIDE

Every great spiritual tradition in the history of humanity has arrived, eventually, at the same conclusion.

The pilgrim walks a thousand miles to reach the sacred mountain. The devotee builds cathedrals that take centuries to complete. The seeker crosses deserts and oceans and lifetimes in search of the teacher, the text, the revelation that will finally give them what they are looking for. And then, if they are fortunate, something happens — not at the destination but somewhere along the way — and they understand with sudden and irrevocable clarity that what they were searching for was never outside them. That the temple they were walking toward was the one they were already standing in.

Every step was real. Every search was necessary. The treasure was always there. It was the searching itself that taught them to see it.

The Temple Inside is what that realisation looks like rendered in paint.

The vessel — the human being as container, as it runs throughout this collection — stands at the centre of an architecture of extraordinary complexity and richness. Fractal patterns inspired by the sacred geometry of Hindu and Oriental temples cascade across every surface in gold and cobalt and crimson and emerald, each element connecting to the next in the self-similar logic of systems that contain their own infinity. This is not decoration. This is the visual language of a tradition that understood, thousands of years before modern mathematics confirmed it, that the patterns of the cosmos repeat at every scale — that what you find in the universe you find in the temple, and what you find in the temple you find in the body, and what you find in the body you find in the self.

The fruit beside the vessel is not incidental. It is ripe — present, abundant, here now. The treasure that was always available, always within reach, always already yours, waiting only for the moment you stopped looking somewhere else.

This painting does not invite you to seek. It invites you to arrive.
