Female Erotica
FEMALE EROTICA The word erotica comes from Eros — not the cupid of greeting cards, but the primordial force the ancient Greeks placed at the origin of everything. Before the gods, before the cosmos took shape, there was Eros: the energy of attraction, of creation, of one thing reaching toward another and in that reaching, generating something new. Not sexuality. Something far older and more fundamental than that. Every human being carries two great currents of energy. One is directional, decisive, outward-moving — the energy that builds, asserts, divides the world into problems and solutions. The other is circular, receptive, generative — the energy that holds, connects, knows without needing to explain how it knows. Neither belongs to a gender. Both live in every body, in every consciousness, in every life that is fully being lived. Female Erotica is the vessel through which the second current flows. The jarrón — the human being as container — carries this energy in curves and circles, in patterns that flow into each other without hard edges, in a palette of blues and pinks that move with the particular quality of intuition: arriving whole, without the sequential logic that the other current requires. The geometric language decorating the vessel is the same ancient transmission that runs through the entire collection — but here it arrives differently, in forms that breathe rather than cut, that gather rather than point. This is not a painting about femininity. It is a painting about what every human being becomes when they stop overriding one half of themselves in favour of the other.
